First Father's Day and First Bath

Such an exciting day full of firsts!

Our day started with me getting to sleep in and feeling completely guilty about it! I didn't realize how late I slept but when I woke up Jesse was out playing with the baby and seemed completely happy so I didn't feel too bad anymore.  We decided to go on a picnic at one of our favorite parks and since it was Jesse's day I told him he got to pick what we ate. He decided on Chinese from his favorite restaurant and as we left the house to get in the car we hit a nasty wall of heat. Of course it being summer you expect it to be hot outside but it's a change from the rain, clouds and cold we've had the last couple weeks.

We got to the park and looked for a nice table in the shade just to find there is no such thing as a table in the shade at this park. We would have eaten on the ground on a picnic blanket but let's face it Chinese food needs a table. We found a table got settled and started eating. The whole time we were driving and picking up food Noah was asleep and happy but as soon as we settled at a table he screamed like nobody's business! We took him out and cuddled him and the poor baby had sweat through his outfit. We decided to pack up and go home. He patted him down with wet napkins, changed him back at the car, cranked up the A/C and headed out.

When we got home we let him chill in his diaper while I set up his bath tub and got his towels and soap.  We brought him into the bathroom, naked babied him and just held him for a minute to get him used to the idea of the new room and his surroundings. I slowly lowered him into the water and that's when the loudest noise I've ever heard him make came out. He absolutely hated it! I covered him in a warm washcloth, and scrubbed him down as quickly as I could so we could take him out and give him cuddles to feel better.  We wrapped him in his frog prince towel gave him the cuddles he needed and he eventually calmed down. Oh what a traumatic experience for him! Hopefully the next bath goes better, I have some new tips and ideas to make it more comfortable for my little froggy:)

Father's Day Weekend

So excited for this weekend!

As of now we have no real plans except for visiting my dad for his birthday and Father's Day and Jesse's dad, but hopefully I'll come up with something nice to do for Jesse's first Father's Day.

I couldn't come up with any creative gifts and since we're kinda low on cash I made shirts that say big dude and little dude for Jesse and Noah.  Totally lame and dorky but I think it'll make him smile so I'm okay with it:)

I'm thinking a picnic will be a good plan for tomorrow; pack a lunch,
find a nice park and relaxing with our new little family:)

Keeping Busy

Woohoo! A new hobby to do while the little monster sleeps!

My days are full of feedings, diapers, burps, screaming, cuddles and smiles and let's be honest, it's everything I wanted and more.  I love our little man, and my superhero husband. Even though he's back at work and I'm home alone with the little dude I wouldn't trade it in for anything. I can't believe how quickly these first three weeks have gone by and how big he's already gotten. Time is going by too quickly already!

Super stoked for our first date night since he's been born, going to see "Company" with Neil Patrick Harris and Patti LuPone tonight.  I know I'm going to end up in tears at some point tonight because I miss the baby, but it's going to be nice to get out of the house and have a break.

I know I'll probably end up posting something again later, but for now it's time for laundry, dishes and possibly a shower depending on how good of a napper he is today!
